Mount Hermon Baptist Church Covenant
As members of Mount Hermon Baptist Church, we thankfully enter into covenant with one another.
With God as our helper, we covenant together to:
~ Seek to be more like Jesus each day through spiritual disciplines including prayer, Scripture reading, and study, serving as an example for others (1 Thes 5:17; 2 Tim 1:13, 2:15);
~ Support the church with our prayers, attendance, service, and giving (Acts 2:44-47; Heb 10:24-25);
~ Regard the church as a sanctuary from the world, a place of healing and refuge (Eph 4:1-3, 32);
~ Seek and participate in mission opportunities in the community and beyond (2 Tim 4:2; 1 Pet 3:15);
~ Respect, encourage, and build one another up in love (Rom 15:14; 1 Cor 14:26; 1 Thes 5:11);
~ Seek God’s will in decision making (Rom 12:2; Eph 5:17);
~ Work together in the spirit of goodwill and peace (Rom 12:9-13; 2 Cor 13:11; Gal 5:13);
~ Submit to church decisions out of reverence for Christ (Eph 5:21; Acts 15:1-31; 1 Cor 7:17).
