Reverend David Morton is a native of Burlington, NC. He earned the Master of Divinity degree in 1982 from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. David provided care to the incarcerated as a Supervisory Chaplain for the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Jessup, Georgia, and Butner, NC, until 2001. He then moved to Maryland to become the Mid-Atlantic Regional Chaplaincy Administrator. From 2003-2012, he served as the national Faith-based Program Coordinator for the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Washington, D.C. Reverend Morton served as the director of re-entry programs for 122 federal facilities until his retirement in 2012. Most recently, David served as interim pastor at First Baptist Church of Hillsborough, NC. David now serves as Interim Pastor of Mount Hermon Baptist Church.
